New Lion Brewery makes every effort to follow the ever changing guidance that is issued by the government regarding keeping our customers and staff safe while our taproom is open.

Our amazing staff are working hard to ensure our customers have an enjoyable time at our taproom. We ask all of our customers to be considerate to our staff and each other while our staff deal with the following current guidance.

The ‘rule of six’.

From 14th September there will be new legal limits in place on how many people someone can spend time with in a social group at any one time. Whether indoors or outdoors, people from different households must not meet in groups of larger than six.

In a bar such as ours, different groups of people are welcome and allowed to attend as long as each individual group comprises no more than six people.

While this limit does not apply to meetings of a single household group or support bubble where it consists of more than six people, to assist our staff in managing social distancing, we will not admit or serve ANY individual groups of more than six people to our outside bar.

Test and trace.

From 14th September, businesses are now mandated to ask one member of every party who visits to provide their contact details to assist NHS test and trace.

From 24th September, businesses will need to display the official NHS QR code posters so that customers can ‘check-in’ at different premises using this option as an alternative to providing their contact details once the app is rolled out nationally (from 24th September).

Customers at our bar can either provide their NHS test and trace information by scanning the official NHS QR code displayed in our bar or by providing it to a member of staff when asked to do so.

As per current guidelines, this information is held for 21 days.

Table service.

From September 24th, in licensed premises, food and drink must be ordered from, and served at, a table. Following this latest government guidance, service at our bar will be by table service only.

On arrival to our bar please speak to our staff at our service hatch – you will be directed to and served at a table. Beer menus are available at each table. Our staff will continue to take orders from and serve further drinks at your table.

Face coverings.

From September 24th, following the latest government guidance, it is compulsory for customers to wear face masks in any part of our bar except when seated at a table to drink or eat. This includes our service area when buying drinks from our bottle shop to take away and our toilet.

It is also compulsory for our staff to wear face masks while working.

Social distancing.

We follow current 1 metre plus social distancing guidelines. Our bar tables are spaced accordingly and floor markings are in place at the entrance to both our bar serving area and toilet to indicate a 1 metre plus social distancing space if queuing.

Our bar is currently outside only with a limited capacity.

Customer entrance to our building is strictly for use of our customers only.

Hygiene.

We have cleaning, hand washing and hygiene procedures in place in line with current guidance and hand sanitiser is available at our tables, the entrance to our building and our toilet for customer use.

Music.

Our music policy which follows current guidelines is available here.
