In February 2019, the much-loved New Lion Brewery will be taking the brave and brilliant step of becoming a 100% community-owned enterprise.  Our share offer, and our conversion to a Community Benefit Society  will give you the opportunity to be part-owner of a vibrant, fast-growing and award-winning craft brewery in Totnes, and a role in shaping its future. This will enable us to move and expand our fine brewery into Webbers Yard in Dartington, to create a new shared space with our friends The Almond Thief, bakers of the finest sourdough bread in the south west (and more besides).

What our shared space with the Almond Thief will look like…

Together we will create a venue which is a celebration of yeast, flour, community, ingenuity and the circular economy.  It will be a place where you can eat, drink, listen to music, meet friends, paint, draw, hold events, dance and experience a new, more local economy in reality. We are thrilled to explore the many symbioses that can emerge when a bakery and a brewery coexist. Our intention during February and March is to raise £150,000 which will enable us to move into a beautiful new space, double our production capacity, and much more.

When you invest, you will be eligible for a 30% tax relief on whatever you’ve invested (up to a maximum of £100,000).  There will also be different perks for investors, including an ‘investors-only’ beer brewed once a year, discounts, and invitations to special events.  Our share offer will go live to the public on February 1st 2019.  But we want to give you a week’s headstart.  Simply register your interest here, and we will invite you to be among our very first investors, to take a stake in creating something fantastic.
