A ‘LionShare’ update

We thought that an update on LionShare, our community takeover of the Brewery, was overdue, so here it is. The story so far: our plan had been that Dartington Hall Trust were going to renovate the unit at Webbers Yard, Dartington, currently occupied by The Almond Thief, and that we would move in by May, sharing with them. However, in December, due to the under-performance of their bond issue, they told us they were unable to proceed with this work.

Since that time, we have, together with The Almond Thief, Forest & Co and others, been trying to figure out […]

Be the first to grab your LionShare

In February 2019, the much-loved New Lion Brewery will be taking the brave and brilliant step of becoming a 100% community-owned enterprise.  Our share offer, and our conversion to a Community Benefit Society  will give you the opportunity to be part-owner of a vibrant, fast-growing and award-winning craft brewery in Totnes, and a role in shaping its future. This will enable us to move and expand our fine brewery into Webbers Yard in Dartington, to create a new shared space with our friends The Almond Thief, bakers of the finest sourdough bread in the south west (and more besides).

Together we will […]

New Lion turns five years old…

We had a great birthday party at The Kitchen Table on Saturday.  We turned 5 with amazing food and cake, the launch of our new Baltic Porter, music from Jimmy T on the decks, dancing, conversation and laughter.  A delight all round.  Thanks everyone.  Here are a few photos from the night.

‘Local Hero’ launch this Saturday

On Saturday (13th) we unveil this year’s batch of ‘Local Hero’, the beer made using the hops grown by our Hop Club. It will be formally launched at 5.30pm, so if you’d like to meet other hop growers, come along. All our growers will get a bottle, and we will put a cask on the bar, and invite donations for Reuben’s fund to raise money to build a playground on Vire Island in the memory of our own Local Hero. Do come along and help us celebrate life, local food production and community.
